The sky is cloudy, raining outside; monsoon is knocking on our doors. And most importantly, it's the Weekend again. I hope you all are relaxed, happy and well. Today I'll talk about places, places which we can visit right after the lockdown period. You can call those weekend tours. For a very long time, I do not travel like a tourist. And I believe the same thing goes with you guys too. So here are the 5 places that you can visit in Bengal in this post covid scenario.





SUNDARBANS

Home of the Bengal Tigers, Sundarbans is also Known for hosting the biggest mangrove forests in the world. It is also a Tiger Reserve and a Biosphere reserve that provides a complete nature's circle to the tourist right from 'Royal Bengal tigers' to roaring rivers and beautiful estuaries. Sundarbans National Park is a part of the Sundarban delta that is covered with Mangrove Forest and the largest population of the Bengal Tigers. It is a UNESCO world heritage site with a large variety of birds and reptiles including the salt-water crocodile. The meaning of Sundraban is beautiful forest, which has been declared a UNESCO heritage site. This area has a silent charm that manages to amaze one with the simplicity and naturalness of its ecological balance despite offering habitat to some of the most dynamic and awe-inspiring flora and fauna.





BARANTI

A calm lake surrounded by mighty mountains covered with a thick carpet of greenery. Less crowded, more peaceful and intimate, this is Baranti in a nutshell for you. If you want some peace and quiet, Baranti is an ideal pick. It lies in the beautiful Rahr countryside and offers a stunning view of the reservoir. You can pack up a picnic hamper and set off to Baranti, where you can eat and revel in the gorgeous view and the peaceful atmosphere. There will be no one to disturb you, for sure! Baranti is also dotted with a couple of verdant hills that you can try and scale. You could even opt to stroll alongside the dense forest at one end casually. In short, there’s a lot you can do if you set up camp at Baranti!





SHANTINIKETAN

Murti river is near Murti. In the middle of a thick forest, one can often spot wild animals like Elephants, Rhinos, Deer etcetera who come down to the river bank to satisfy their thirst. However much beautiful the sight is, one needs to be careful around the lake. Murti is one of the beautiful places in Dooars where you can spend your weekend to rejuvenate yourself.
